September was an exciting month for Mattenga’s Pizzeria, filled with community events, partnerships, and the joy of serving our customers. Here's a recap of the highlights:
Going Above and Beyond in a Time of Need
An accident occurred at the corner of Fair Oaks Lane and 3009 and our Mattenga’s team members Izzy, Rocki, and Kiera were among the first on the scene. Without hesitation, they stepped in to help pull individuals from the vehicle and remained with them until they were safely taken away in ambulances. Going a step further, they returned to the pizzeria, made fresh pizzas, and brought them out to the families involved in the accident and to the first responders who provided assistance. We are incredibly proud of their compassion, bravery, and dedication to serving our community, even in the most challenging moments.
New Partnership with UTSA Athletics
We’re thrilled to announce that we are the newest partner of UTSA Athletics for 2024! This partnership represents our ongoing commitment to supporting local sports and fostering community connections in San Antonio. We're looking forward to an exciting year ahead with UTSA!
Spirit Night at Comal Creek Elementary School
We had the pleasure of hosting Comal Creek Elementary School Spirit Night at our Schertz location this month. It was heartwarming to see the school spirit and community come together to support the event. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making the night a success!
Pizza Fest San Antonio is Back!
We are proud to be part of San Antonio’s Pizza Fest, coming up on October 13, 2024! Join us at this fun and flavorful event where pizza lovers unite. We can’t wait to serve you some of our favorite pies and celebrate with the community.

We’re happy to announce our partnership with Q101.9, where we provide free lunch as a prize for their promotions. We love collaborating with local radio and can’t wait to bring more delicious pizza to their lucky winners!

Feeding the Future Leaders of Pieper High School
We had the pleasure of delivering 54 fresh, hot pizzas to Pieper High School this month. Nothing makes us happier than seeing the smiles of the students as they enjoyed their lunch. Thank you, Pieper High School, for choosing Mattenga’s!
Celebrating Special Moments
September also gave us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a very special milestone for one of our guests — Koyt's 83rd birthday! Koyt, a successful attorney and former athlete for the Tar Heels, who represented the University of North Carolina with pride, was showered with warmth and appreciation by our team. We made sure to sing to him, provided special dietary desserts to meet his needs, and gifted him with balloons, a signed card, and a bottle of watermelon margaritas. Koyt’s joy and appreciation lit up the room, and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate such a remarkable individual.
Supporting Cibolo Valley Elementary’s Math and Literacy Night
We were happy to provide pizzas for the staff at Cibolo Valley Elementary School during their Math and Literacy Night. It’s always a joy to fuel these important school events with delicious pizza!
