October was a month full of heartwarming connections, community support, and unforgettable moments at Mattenga’s Pizzeria. Our dedication to bringing people together over delicious pizza was evident in each event we were lucky to be part of, and we’re thrilled to share how we left a mark on our community this past month! National Night Out: Building Stronger Neighborhoods Our National Night Out celebrations were nothing short of epic! In various neighborhoods across San Antonio, we served over 120 pizzas, bringing families, friends, and neighbors together for an evening filled with fun, laughter, and the undeniable bond of good food. A huge shoutout to the Promontory Point HOA, where we served 40 pizzas to a vibrant community, and everyone enjoyed the night’s lively spirit. We’re grateful for the chance to strengthen community ties and look forward to making next year’s National Night Out just as memorable!
Supporting Our Schools and Celebrating with Local PTAs We had the pleasure of joining the Stone Oak Elementary PTA for a fantastic event, sharing pizza, coloring sheets, and stickers with the kiddos and families. The joy of connecting with students, teachers, and parents is something we cherish, and we thank Stone Oak Elementary for welcoming us to be part of the fun. Plus, Trunk or Treat events this month, including those at Journey Fellowship Learning Center, Stone Oak Elementary, and K1 Speed, were a spook-tacular hit! Seeing creative costumes, decorated trunks, and plenty of smiles reminded us of the importance of community spirit, and we were honored to provide delicious pizza to make each event even more festive.
Honoring Everyday Heroes and Community Champions
At Mattenga’s, we’re passionate about supporting those who make our community better. We were honored to serve Corbett Junior High’s Mustang custodians a well-deserved lunch, recognizing their hard work and commitment. Another heartfelt moment came with the beautiful, framed flag we received from the 2024 Schertz JR Fire Academy. Supporting and inspiring the next generation of firefighters is a privilege, and we’re beyond grateful for this meaningful gesture.
Pizza Festivals and Winning Big
The 2nd Annual San Antonio Pizza Festival was a true highlight, and we’re thrilled to announce that our Brisket, Jalapeños, and BBQ Sauce Pizza took home First Place for both Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice! We couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who came out to support us and cast their vote. This win belongs to all of you who continue to cheer us on and inspire us to craft pizzas with love and creativity.
Feeding Fans at UTSA Fan Zone
Game day excitement hit an all-time high at the UTSA Fan Zone, where our team served up over 1,200 samples of our famous pizza rolls to fans. Sharing our pizza with enthusiastic fans as they celebrated a huge win was incredible! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to support us — it’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do.
Celebrating Milestones and Special Events
We had the honor of catering the wedding of Breanna and Joshua, who entrusted us to be part of their beautiful day. Sharing in their joy was a heartwarming experience, and we wish the couple endless happiness and laughter. We’re grateful for every couple, family, and friend who lets us play a role in their special celebrations.
Partnering with Local Businesses and Honoring Our Heroes
We loved joining Keller Williams Realty for a team luncheon, bringing the power of pizza to their team gathering. A big thank you also goes out to Councilman Kevin Hadas, who invited us to cater a luncheon at Randolph Air Force Base, serving those who work tirelessly to make our community a better place. At Mattenga’s, we’re proud to support our local leaders and look forward to more opportunities to give back.
