May 2023 Impact Report

We are proud to be a part of the community and to get involved in different events. We strive to make our pizzeria a place where everyone can come together and have a great time. Read on to learn more about the various activities and community involvement initiatives we have accomplished in May.


May 1 - We are thrilled to honor our heroic educators at Bob Lewis Elementary School on Teacher Appreciation Day by sponsoring a pizza lunch by our Sea World location! Fueling their knowledge-spreading powers one slice at a time! 📚💪



May 3 - Teachers put the 'T' in Toppings & Talent! We are honoring our amazing teachers at Adams Hill Elementary School on Teacher Appreciation Day with a pizza lunch from our Quiet Plain location. 🍕✨



May 4 - We gave extra credit for our extraordinary teachers at Raba Elementary and Martin Elementary schools! On Teacher Appreciation Day, our Sea World location sponsored pizza lunches to show our gratitude for their tireless dedication to molding young minds! You all deserve a pizza for the recognition! 🏆🍕



May 4 - On National Firefighter Day, we are honoring our local heroes by providing them with delicious pizzas from Mattenga's Schertz and Mattenga's New Braunfels. We are grateful for their courage and bravery, and we are proud to recognize them as the superheroes of our community! Let's raise a toast to these amazing individuals who risk their lives to save ours. 🚒🍕



Meanwhile… HAPPY 1st ANNIVERSARY to our Sea World location and it coincides with Star Wars Day. "In a Pizzeria Far, Far Away... Celebrating One Year of Galactic Deliciousness! May the Fourth and the Pizza Be With You!"



May 5 - A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart - thank you for all you do. We are so grateful for all the hard work and dedication of the teachers at Mead Elementary School. It is an honor to be able to show our appreciation by providing pizza lunch on Teacher Appreciation Day from Mattenga’s Callaghan! 🎉🙌🏻



May 9 - Happy Teacher Appreciation Day to the brilliant educators at Green Valley Elementary School! Mattenga’s Schertz provided a pizza lunch to recognize your hard work and dedication to inspiring the next generation of innovators. You are truly a beacon of light! 🕯️📚



May 9 - Mattenga’s Callaghan had a generous donation to Respite Care of San Antonio (Callaghan). Your contribution has made a huge impact in the lives of children with special needs and complex medical conditions. Your kindness is greatly appreciated! 🤗🍕



May 11 - Happy Teacher Appreciation Day to the educators of Rose Garden Elementary School who make our community smarter, stronger, and a whole lot cheesier! Our Schertz location is honored to sponsor your well-deserved pizza lunch! 🍕💕



May 16 - We are stoked to be honored with the Community Sponsor Award from Bob Lewis Elementary School for recognizing Mattenga's location near SeaWorld. Thanks a million! Indeed, working together is a success! 🤩



May 16 & 17 - We donated pizzas to NPW East Substation and NPW Central Substation in honor of National Police Week. You are true heroes and we are grateful for your service!



May 17 - We sponsored pizzas to the Schertz Police Department for National Police Week. You are making a difference in your community and we are proud of you!




May 17 - Mattenga's SeaWorld is delighted to be a part of the Career Day event at Madison Elementary School.




May 18 - New Braunfels Mattenga’s took pizza to the New Braunfels Police Dept. during National Police Week. It’s a great way to show our appreciation and support for law enforcement officers. It's also a thoughtful and delicious way to acknowledge their hard work and dedication.




May 19 - Mattenga's Quiet Plain provided food for the Adams Hill Elementary School Spring Fling. We are thrilled to provide you with our scrumptious pizzas!



May 26 - Bob Lewis Elem. Kindergarten/Paxton Party! Our Sea World team has adopted this young man. Paxton is 5 and suffering from terminal brain cancer. Molto Meat Pizza is his favorite and being a Mattenganite is one of his dreams. Today, he got a Mattenga’s uniform, hat and name tag.



A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all our graduates. We’re so proud of you and wish you the best!


Here are 3 of the 8 graduates from our Schertz store: Tara, David, Marcus and Riann (not graduating, but who made their cupcakes). Not shown are Goldie, Anevay, AJ, Jason and Zachary.



O’Connor had two graduates: Aubrey from Antonian and Bella from River City Believers Academy.




Our graduate from the New Braunfels location is Noah while Kei is from our Callaghan store (right).




At our Quiet Plain location, four graduates - Alex, Esperanza, Michelle, and Sofia - were celebrated. Similarly, at Sea World, one graduate, Aryana, was honored (photo not available).
