The Story of Mattenga's Pizzeria

Matt and Enga, two engineers, shared a passion beyond just numbers and equations. Driven by their desire to bring families and friends together over delicious pies, they quit their jobs in 2014 and dove into the restaurant world without any prior experience. Today, Mattenga's Pizzeria stands as a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and good ol' Texas Hospitality. With six locations across San Antonio, Matt and Enga continue to unite families and friends, fostering love and laughter over mouthwatering pizzas.

A Family-led Pizzeria:

At Mattenga's Pizzeria, families with young children hold a special place in Matt and Enga's hearts. As parents of four wonderful kids, now ages 11, 9, 5, and 2, they understand the importance of a warm and welcoming environment for families. The mouthwatering recipes at Mattenga's were lovingly crafted with the help of Enga's parents, who still play an active role in the pizzeria, working alongside Matt and Enga even in their late 60s. This close-knit family atmosphere ensures that every dish is prepared with love, care, and a touch of home, creating a unique dining experience that leaves families and friends with cherished memories to last a lifetime.

At Mattenga's Pizzeria, we're all about crafting a pizza experience. We spend hours making dough from scratch, balling and cutting every single dough ball. We slice up veggies in-house so fresh, you'd think they just came out of the garden! And yeah, our team sheds a couple of tears daily, but that's just us putting in the extra effort to slice those onions just right for you! We're famous for our in-house ranches, like our Texas Ranch that packs a punch with cilantro and jalapeño. Our Mattenga's Basil Garlic Ranch is so good, you'll want to put it on everything from pizza to your morning cereal (we won't judge). Come and taste the love we put into every slice at Mattenga's Pizzeria, where our team is hilarious, and our Pizzas are out of this world!
